The St. Louis Rams signed veteran defensive end Jay Williams to a 3 year contract. Williams recorded 37 tackles, 2 sacks, 1 interception, 2 deflected passes and 2 forced fumbles in 2004 with the Miami Dolphins.

The 6'3", 270 lbs. product of Wake Forest University began his career with the Los Angeles Rams in 1994. Williams stayed with the Rams when they moved to St. Louis until 1999, before playing for the Carolina Panthers (2000-2001) and the Dolphins (2002-2004). He has amassed 178 tackles, 23.5 sacks, 2 INTs, 4 deflected passes, 4 forced fumbles, and 2 fumble recoveries in 137 games over 11 seasons.
