Tight end Todd Heap, coming off his worst season as professional, received a 6 year contract extension from the Baltimore Ravens. Heap has been named twice to the Pro Bowl in 4 NFL campaigns. He would have become an unrestricted free agent after the 2005 season.

The 6 foot 5 inch, 252 pound Heap had 27 receptions for 303 yards and 3 touchdowns in 6 games during 2004. He was sidelined 10 games last year with an ankle injury.

A product of Arizona State, Heap has been one of the few consistent receiving weapons for the Ravens. He has recorded 168 catches for 2,038 yards and 13 TDs in 50 career games since 2001.
