Over the course of one training camp session, the Redskins lost defensive end Phillip Daniels to a knee injury and DE Alex Buzbee to an ankle injury.

The Washington Post reports that Daniels was hurdling a teammate in a drill and landed awkwardly. An early MRI indicated there was damage to his anterior cruciate ligament, and his season is over.

Buzbee, a second-year player, injured his ankle during a special teams drill within the first 30 minutes of the second session of the day.

Commentary: ESPN’s John Clayton wrote that the Redskins revamped talks with the Dolphins concerning DE Jason Taylor. The Post’s Jason La Canfora reports there isn’t truth to those rumors. The Redskins are perilously thin at defensive end, and with excitement flowing through the team with the addition of head coach Jim Zorn, it may be a move the Skins would want to make.
