The Dolphins traded defensive end Jason Taylor to Washington for a second-round draft pick in 2009 and a sixth-round choice in 2010.

The Redskins lost DE Phillip Daniels for the season with a torn ACL during the first workout of training camp July 20, thus escalating the Redskins' desire for the veteran Taylor.

Commentary: The initial asking price for the All-Pro DE was a first-round choice, and some teams didn't pull the trigger because Taylor has said he's only going to play one more season before retiring. It also wasn't a secret that Taylor wanted out of Miami and onto a team that has a chance to compete this season. Taylor was the defensive player of the year in 2006, and he'll be a big boost to Washington's defense.

Fantasy Impact: Taylor makes a decent pass rush in D.C. a whole lot better. His versatility (he can play both end and outside linebacker) provides a loaded weapon for any defensive coordinator and should help raise the Redskins' total sack and turnover numbers.
