The Redskins cut veteran safety Vernon Fox and defensive linemen Dorian Smith and Babatunde Oshinowo, leaving the team's roster at 77 players.

Teams need to be at 75 by Tuesday, per NFL rules. Fox was a special teams player last season; he made two starts at safety in 2006. Smith and Oshinowo were both mid-camp additions.

Commentary: None of the three released were impact players, while Smith and Oshinowo were training camp bodies who were never supposed to make the first cut.
