Eagles at Redskins, OVER 42.5

Handicapping this game is tough. Not just because I’m not that great (batting around .500) this season, but it’s hard to tell which Redskins team might show up. The Eagles, with Mike Vick at the helm, have been pretty solid but are capable of laying their own eggs (a blowout in Jacksonville, the loss at home to Washington when Vick got hurt). Tempting to take Washington +3 (or even better, +3.5 if you can get that) because a home dog on a Monday Night following a bye should be ready to go against a divisional foe. But I just don’t trust this Redskins team.

No one would be surprised to see the Eagles win by 7 or 10 or more. So I think the best bet is to play the Over. The over/under is set at 42.5, and these two defenses are sure to give up a few big plays to Vick and Donovan McNabb. The last 4 consecutive Eagles games have gone over, as the offense makes plays while that defense gives them up. Bet the Over.
