Sean Taylor's trial is set to begin on September 12th. Taylor has been formally charged with one felony count of aggravated assault with a firearm and a misdemeanor simple battery charge. He is looking at a minimum of three years and a maximum of 16 years in prison if convicted on the felony charge.

Taylor is accused of pointing a gun towards a group of men in his South Miami-Dade neighborhood. He accused the men of stealing his ATVs. During a second alleged confrontation later that evening, Taylor is accused of punching one of the men.

Sean Taylor was the fifth pick overall in the 2004 NFL draft, and signed a seven year $18 million contract. He finished his rookie season with 76 tackles, one sack, and four interceptions.
