All Mark Brazinski had to do was walk into the room for his press conference at Immaculata High School in Somerville, N.J., on Wednesday and the suspense as to where he planned to play football in 2009 was gone.

It must have been the scarlet jacket he was wearing.

And sure enough, the 6-foot-4, 285-pound center announced that he had decided to give a verbal commitment to the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, choosing them over offers from Florida State, Boston College and Penn.

Rated a four-star recruit, Brazinski told the Courier-Post of Bridgewater, "I like the coaches very much, especially (offensive line coach) Kyle Flood."

He also likes the atmosphere at Rutgers on football Saturdays.

"I was at the South Florida game," he said, "and I didn't sit down the whole time. My voice was completely gone. Having an atmosphere like that is amazing."

Brazinski's high school coach played for Rutgers, and two of his older brothers are offensive linemen at Penn and Bucknell. One of his teammates at Immaculata, running back Theo Riddick, gave his pledge to Notre Dame.
