Saints wide receiver Marques Colston signed a three-year contract extension Wednesday, keeping the receiver in New Orleans through 2011.

Details of the contract were not immediately released. Colston had been angling for a new deal after being one of the most productive receivers in the NFL over the past two seasons. He had 98 catches for 1,211 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2007.

Commentary: Colston was perhaps the most underpaid player in the game until he got his extension. A seventh-round pick from Hofstra in 2006, Colston has been a big part of the revitalization in New Orleans -- as evidenced by his offensive rookie of the year honor in 2006.

Fantasy Impact: With the addition of tight end Jeremy Shockey in New Orleans, Colston has even more help in a powerful passing offense, and he'll look to again rank quite high in catches, yards and touchdowns.
