The Saints and first-round defensive tackle Sedrick Ellis, the seventh pick in April's NFL draft, came to terms on a contract Tuesday. Details were not released.

Ellis' signing means only Bengals first-round linebacker Keith Rivers (Ellis' teammate at USC) and Jaguars first-round defensive end Derrick Harvey remain without contracts across the NFL.

Commentary: A great pick by the Saints; it took him a little bit to sign, but Ellis will have an immediate impact on a team that hasn't had great play from its interior defensive linemen.

Fantasy Impact: If Ellis can help apply pressure to the quarterback, the Saints' secondary won't be as much a liability against the deep pass as it was in 2007.
