Is Jeremy Shockey's mouth running? Then you'd better go catch a pass for his team; after all, he won't be for a while. The often disgruntled tight end fired off complaints to anyone who would listen after New Orleans' embarrassing 30-7 loss Sunday in Carolina. Shockey returned too soon from sports-hernia surgery and re-aggravated the injury on the Saints' first offensive play. The pain later led to a fumble that Carolina defensive end Julius Peppers stripped away. The surgery took place four weeks ago and it was a bit surprising to see Shockey return so quickly, especially considering Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Kevin Curtis had the same surgery in the preseason and hasn't yet played this year.

Shockey did take accountability for his mistakes, which is respectable, and said that maybe he came back too soon. But he definitely cast doubt on the New Orleans medical staff. If you listen to Shockey, it's the trainers' fault that the injury wasn't taken care of quicker.

"I'm worried that this thing could have been taken care of in camp, like it should have been," Shockey said.

He then went on to comment that "If it wasn't misdiagnosed in camp like it was there'd have been no problems. ... Next time I know. When I get hurt I'll get three or four opinions besides just the team's."

The New York Giants, Shockey's old team, must be even more thrilled that they got rid of the tight end.

Fan Pulse: Fans are divided over Shockey's soundbites concerning his health issues: http://whodatzone.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=29847.

Fantasy Football Commentary:
Shockey was looking like a steal in fantasy drafts, where he was selected rather late. Now it is hard to tell what will happen with him. Sit him on your bench and play a tight end like the Jaguars' Marcedes Lewis until you are certain Shockey is 100 percent.

Injury Watch:
RB Reggie Bush underwent arthroscopic knee surgery Monday to repair a torn medial meniscus in his left knee. He will likely miss three or four weeks of the season.
