NEW ORLEANS, LA - The New Orleans Saints agreed to terms on a 2 year contract with unrestricted free agent tight end Shad Meier. The young TE has a reputation as a good blocker and caught a career-best 25 passes for 127 yards and 2 TDs last season for the Tennessee Titans.

Originally drafted by Tennessee in 2001, Meier has started 14 of 52 games with 42 receptions for 334 yards and 3 TDs.

New Orleans also re-signed DT Howard Green, one of the team's exclusive rights free agents, to a 1 year contract. Since the start of free agency, the Saints have signed 2 other unrestricted free agents - T Jermane Newberry and S Dwight Smith.
