As expected, last week's trade of WR Donte Stallworth to Philadelphia for linebacker Mark Simoneau had a ripple effect on the New Orleans Saints' final cuts this past weekend.

Seventh-round draft pick Marques Colston, whose emergence at wide receiver made Stallworth expendable, was among those listed on the final 53-man roster. Colby Bockwoldt, a starter at linebacker in 2005, wasn't, no doubt crowded off by Simoneau.

Among the others cut loose were TE Zach Hilton (35 catches in 2005), RB Jamaal Branch (later named to the practice squad) and LB E.J. Kuale.

Colston may also have figured in the exodus of Hilton, since the 6-foot-4, 235-pounder out of Hofstra can also play tight end.
