Peter Warrick landed on his feet in a hurry, just one day after being released by the Cincinnati Bengals. The once heralded 1st rounder has signed a one-year deal with the Seattle Seahawks. Financial details have not been made public, but according to reports the wide receiver's deal is worth $1.4 million, which includes a $500,000 signing bonus.

Great things were expected out of the 28-year old Warrick when the Bengals selected him with the 4th overall selection in the 2000 NFL Draft, but stardom never panned out for him in Cincinnati. In his five-year career, he caught 264 passes for 2,811 yards and 18 touchdowns, while appearing in 66 games as a Bengal.

He was only able to play in four games for the team last season due to knee and shin ailments. Thus far, he appeared in only one pre-season game for the Bengals and had been unhappy with his diminished role on the team. On Monday, he asked for his immediate release after it was apparent his days in Cincinnati were soon to be over; the team complied and allowed him to walk.

He will now be looking to work his way up a Seattle Seahawks depth chart that includes starters Darrell Jackson and Bobby Engram, as well as backup Joe Jurevicius.
