Seahawks LB Lofa Tatupu was cited for DUI on Saturday in Kirkland, Wash.

Tatupu's blood-alcohol concentration registered at .155 and .158, nearly twice the legal limit to operate a vehicle. He was pulled over at 2:30 a.m. on May 11 after officers said they witnessed Tatupu driving in excess of 50 mph in a 35-mph zone, according to the Seattle Times.

Tatupu signed a seven-year contract extension worth $42 million this offseason after making his third consecutive Pro Bowl.

Commentary: While Tatupu apologized for the incident Wednesday, it's disappointing for one of the league's brightest young stars to be in such a situation. Tatupu noted he is sorry, and said "it won't happen again."

Fantasy Impact: It's unknown whether Tatupu was already in the league's substance-abuse program, and if he was, he could be subjected to a suspension. That would be a large blow against one of the strongest defenses in the NFL, but generally speaking, a first-time offender won't be forced to miss any time.
