Seahawks sign Kelly Herndon to offer sheet

The Seattle Seahawks have signed cornerback Kelly Herndon to an offer sheet. The Denver Broncos have one week to match the offer to the restricted free agent.

Should the Broncos decide not to match the offer, the Seahawks won't be obligated to give up a draft choice. Herndon joined Denver as an undrafted free agent in 2001.

The 5'10", 180 lbs. Herndon started 16 games last season. He finished 2004 with 67 tackles, 1 sack, 2 interceptions, 21 passes defended, 3 fumbles forced and 1 fumble recovery.

In his 3 year career, the ex-Toledo Rocket has accumulated 138 tackles, 6 INTs, 35 passes defended, 6 forced fumbles, and recovered 2 of his opponent's fumbles.
