The Seattle Seahawks signed free-agent Jamie Sharper. The linebacker was released earlier this month by the Houston Texans.

The Seattle Post-Intelligencer reported Sharper agreed to a 5 year deal worth $17.5 million, including a $1.5 million signing bonus.

The 6'3", 239 lbs. LB had 137 tackles, 2 sacks, 6 deflected passes, 3 forced fumbles, and 1 fumble recovery in 16 games during 2004.

The former Virginia Cavalier enters his ninth season in the NFL. He played with the Baltimore Ravens from 1997-2001 before joining the Texans for their inaugural season in 2002. Sharper has amassed 831 tackles, 25.5 sacks, 2 interceptions, 37 passes defended, 13 forced fumbles, and 7 fumble recoveries in 128 games.

He has never missed a game and is the older brother of new Vikings safety Darren Sharper.
