LB Smith commits to South Carolina

Quin Smith, a 6-foot, 206-pound outside linebacker from Hibriten High School in Lenoir, N.C., has verbally committed to play for the South Carolina Gamecocks in 2009.

Commentary: Smith runs the 40-yard dash in 4.63 seconds, benches 275 pounds, and squats 375. Thus, he has some athleticism and power. Enough, in fact, to leave Auburn, North Carolina, and North Carolina State upset that they weren't able to sway him to their school.
