Now that Jerome Bettis is expected to miss week 1 of the regular season, the electrifying Willie Parker will assume the starting role for the Pittsburgh Steelers when they face off against the Tennessee Titans.

Willie Parker is an extremely fast running back who has peeled off several long runs thus far in the preseason. This past weekend he reeled off a 51 yard run on his only carry of the game against the normally-stout Washington Redskins defense. Because of their current injury situation, the Pittsburgh Steelers will likely hold Parker out of their final preseason game against the Carolina Panthers.

Both Jerome Bettis and Duce Staley are on the shelf with injuries. Bettis is awaiting and MRI on his sore calf and Staley is recovering from arthroscopic knee surgery.
