The Pittsburgh Steelers released running back Najeh Davenport on Saturday, just one day before they host the Indianapolis Colts in Week 10.

Considering Willie Parker will miss another game, the move indicates the Steelers aren't as interested in Davenport's contributions on offense. Davenport hasn't carried the ball much - just two attempts for 5 yards - but he has been the team's kickoff returner since he re-signed with it five weeks ago.

Undrafted rookie linebacker Donovan Woods, whom the Steelers just re-signed, will take Davenport's spot on the roster.

Commentary: This constant roster reshuffling will continue until the rash of injuries facing the Steelers subsides. At the pace the team is currently on, this will be sometime after the season ends.

Fan Pulse: The discussion about Davenport on Steelers Fever is focusing on whether he will be available after this game.

Fantasy Football Impact: Of all the kick returners in the NFL, Davenport is probably the least likely to take one back for a touchdown. He hangs on to the ball, though, to his credit. Wide receiver Santonio Holmes has returned kicks in the past, and could be called on for this game.

Injury Watch: Woodley is a game-time decision, but Parker won't play. Neither will tight end Heath Miller (calf), left tackle Marvel Smith (back) or cornerback Bryant McFadden (forearm).
