PITTSBURGH, PA - Kicker Jeff Reed, a restricted free agent coming off his best season, signed a 5 year contract with the Steelers. Reed led the Steelers in scoring last season with a career-high 124 points, converting 84.8 % field-goal attempts (28 out of 33) and all 40 extra points. He finished the regular season by making 17 straight field goals. Reed also made a pair of career-long 51 yard kicks.

Reed, 25, is entering his fourth season with the Steelers after signing as an undrafted free agent out of University of North Carolina on November 20, 2002.

He is the second restricted free agent to re-sign with the Steelers in the offseason, joining inside linebacker Larry Foote.
