Former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker David Little died March 17 while lifting weights at his home in Miami at the age of 46.

Little suffered a heart ailment while working out and suffocated when the barbell he was lifting fell on his throat. He played all 12 of his years as a professional with the Steelers, from 1981 to 1992. The younger brother of Miami Dolphins Hall of Fame guard Larry Little was named to his only Pro Bowl in 1990.

Little is survived by his wife and 3 children, including David Little, Jr. who currently attends Miami Killian Senior High School.
