The Pittsburgh Steelers and defensive tackle Chris Hoke agreed to a 2 year contract extension. The young DT was able to effectively substitute for starting nose tackle Casey Hampton last year.

When Hampton suffered a season-ending knee injury in 2004, Hoke ended up playing 14 regular season games. He recorded 24 tackles and 1 sack. The 6 foot 2 inch, 296 pound Hoke helped Pittsburgh finish first in the NFL for rushing defense (81.2 yards per game) and total defense (258.4 ypg).

The BYU product first signed with the Steelers as an undrafted free agent in 2001 and did not play in any games during his first 3 seasons with the Steelers.
