TCU Horned Frogs head coach Gary Patterson has eluded to the fact that 2-sport star Clint Renfro might get some playing time right away. Although he is a bit of a lightweight at 160 pounds, the coaching staff hopes to have him at around 175 pounds by the fall, and if that happens Renfro could be burning opposing defensive backs as soon as September.

Son of former NFL standout Mike Renfro and grandson of NFL great Ray "The Rabbit" Renfro, Clint hopes to follow in the footsteps of his famous father and grandfather, but he'll start by playing football and running track for the TCU Horned Frogs. In fact, one of the main reasons that he is attending Texas Christian is because he will be able to pursue both track and football while he is there, not to mention the fact that TCU fields a formidable squad in both sports.

Clocked at a 4.4 in the 40-yard dash, Renfro could make an instant impact in the Horned Frogs offense by stretching the field vertically. That's welcomed news for a TCU passing offense that finished 77th in the nation with only 207.8 passing yards per game and managed only a handful of completions over 50 yards.

Hopefully, the addition of Clint Renfro will jog those numbers in the right direction in 2006, but he had better start hitting the weight room and packing on the pounds because its hard to make an impact when you only weigh a buck sixty.
