The Houston Texans re-signed backup quarterback Tony Banks.

Banks is a entering his ninth season out of Michigan State University. He has spent the last 3 seasons backing up David Carr. Banks played in 5 games last year, completing 1 of 2 passes for 16 yards.

The 6'4", 229 lbs. QB started his career with the St. Louis Rams and played there until 1998. He has also played for the Baltimore Ravens (1999-2000), the Washington Redskins (2001). For his career, he has amassed 15,142 yards on 1264-2331 passing, with 76 TDs and 71 INTs in 94 games (78 starts). He also has fumbled 73 times, losing 31 of those fumbles.
