The Houston Texans signed defensive lineman Daleroy Stewart and wide receiver Reggie Swinton. The backups hope to add depth to the Texans in 2005.

The 6'4", 298 lbs. Stewart appeared in 11 games during 2004 for the San Francisco 49ers. He had only 9 tackles. The ex-Southern Miss player was with the Dallas Cowboys from 2001 to 2003 prior to joining the Niners. In 4 years as a pro, he has 25 tackles, 1 pass breakup, and 1 forced fumble in 26 games played.

The 6'0", 182 lbs. Swinton had 18 receptions for 213 yards and 1 TD in 2004 for the Detroit Lions. He also returned 18 kickoffs for 410 yards (22.8 average). The Murray State product began his career with the Dallas Cowboys in 2001 before going to Detroit in 2003. He has recorded 41 receptions for 493 yards and 2 TDs in 54 games. Over his 4 year career, Swinton has averaged 23.9 yards per kick return and 10.9 yards per punt return.
