The Houston Texans have been busy scheduling visits with free-agent defensive backs, but the 35-year-old Tyrone Poole has put an end to that. Houston signed the 13-year veteran on Tuesday, ending a search that included tryouts from Shaun Williams and Raymond Walls, and a scheduled visit with Derrick Gibson.

Commentary: Poole last played for the Raiders in 2006; he appeared in 12 games for Oakland and registered 15 tackles and an interception. The 5-foot-8, 190-pounder is a well-traveled vet, having appeared in 142 games with five different teams. In his career, Poole has tallied 482 tackles, 18 interceptions and 106 passes defensed.

Fantasy Football Impact: Season-ending injuries to defensive backs Glenn Earl and Jason Horton meant the Texans needed to add another option in their defensive backfield, and Poole is a veteran who should be able to help immediately. Still, don't bank on the Texan 'D' to be a viable fantasy option.
