Jersey Village High (Houston, Texas) safety Steven Campbell and Hightower High (Missouri City, Texas) safety Colton Valencia gave their verbal commitments to Texas A&M on Wednesday for the 2009 class.

The 6-foot, 178-pound Campbell garnered 58 tackles and two picks last season, while Valencia (5-foot-10, 176-pounds) totaled 89 tackles, six picks and 23 pass breakups. Rivals rates both as three-star prospects.

Valencia chose A&M over several schools, including UTEP, Arizona State, Colorado, Nebraska and Oklahoma State. Campbell rejected Arizona, Cal, Iowa State, Kansas and Nebraska for College Station.

Buddy Wyatt was the primary on Campbell, while Van Malone was that of Valencia.

COMMENTARY: Talk about a recruiting spike. The Aggies picked up four commitments in a two-day period, with Campbell and Valencia following Kirby Ennis and Charlie Thomas, who committed on Tuesday. The class currently tallies at 14.
