Barbe High (Lake Charles, La.) wideout E.J. Celestie committed to Texas Tech on Monday for the ’09 class.

The 5-foot-11, 173-pounder, whom Rivals rates as a three-star prospect, caught 43 passes for 654 yards and seven scores last season. He also has experience returning kickoff and punts.

Celestie chose Lubbock over Tulane, Louisiana Tech, Tulsa and Southern Miss.

COMMENTARY: The Celestie commitment is the 11th overall for Tech's '09 class; moreover, he’s the second receiver, following another three-star wideout in Aaron Fisher.
