It's been an interesting 36 hours for Titans quarterback Vince Young.

After throwing two interceptions in a row in a 10-7 win over Jacksonville, Young reacted despondently to a chorus of boos from the home crowd. Head coach Jeff Fisher had to coerce him into returning to the field. Four plays after he did, he suffered a knee injury that will likely keep him out of action for 2-4 weeks.

The Titans sent a psychologist to meet with Young on Monday night; afterward, he left his cell phone at home and drove off abruptly in his Mercedes. Young's family called the Titans over concerns regarding his mental condition, which caused the team to phone the police.

According to The Tennessean, the psychologist said Young was "extremely depressed and expressed concerns to the team about Young's safety."

As a result of Young's physical and mental state, the Titans sign QB Chris Simms to back up Kerry Collins, Young's injury replacement. There's even whispers that Collins will remain at the helm if the team is playing well when Young returns.

This has ignited Titans fans on Titans Online, who have been writing feverishly as these events unfold. The general consensus is sensible: If Young's mental state wasn't a concern at all, why did the team have psychologists [url="http://forums.titansonline.com/forums/showpost.php?p=830745&postcount=29"target="_new" title="to meet with him Monday night? "]meet with him?

"Up until this point the (front office) and Fisher have vehemontly denied any 'issues' with VY. If there are no 'issues' then why did someone within the Titans Organization get the local law enforcement involved? Apparently whomever called the cops feels as though there might be more going on with Vince then what the Titans are telling us."

"Wow...I feel for Vince. You don't get people involved in the middle of the night over nothing. This may be deeper then we thought."

Some members of Titans Online began a pledge, vowing to support Young, and stop the booing and negativity they claim to be surrounding the signal-caller.

As far as the next few weeks go, fans seem to be throwing their support behind Collins over the newly signed Simms.

"Chris Simms..... hes not bad but at the same time hes not good, when tampa made playoffs with him they were limited, he is like young, doesnt throw alot of TD's and not alot of yds either..... collins is our best bet, he can throw for alot of yds and tds, lets hope he just doesnt throw alot of ints, throw the ball away because our defence will allow him to get more chances with having to worry bout scoring alot...."
