Tennessee Titans safety Lance Schulters is now a free agent. He has been released after failing to negotiate the terms of a new contract with the team. Despite numerous attempts at resolving contractual issues, the two sides could not come up with a suitable deal.

Lance Schulters is a seven year veteran who has recorded 5½ sacks and 15 interceptions in his NFL tour of duty. He started his career with the San Francisco 49ers, then signed on with the Tennessee Titans in 2002. He recorded 192 tackles and six interceptions in his three seasons with the Titans.

According to his agent, Brian Levy, the two sides parted amicably after failing to reach what his client felt would have been a fair deal. Schulters has been a healthy and productive safety for a number of years, but missed most of last season after injuring his left foot.
