Los Osos High School quarterback Richard Brehaut gave his oral commitment to UCLA on Monday. The Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., native is Rivals' No. 9 pro-style quarterback in the nation.

The four-star QB is 6-foot-3, 205 pounds and runs the 40 in 4.8 seconds. He chose Westwood over Utah, Washington State, Boise State, Arizona, Colorado, Iowa State, Kansas, Notre Dame, Oregon State, San Diego State and Stanford.

Brehaut is the seventh overall commitment and first quarterback for new coach Rick Neuheisel’s 2009 class.

COMMENTARY: What Neuheisel may be lacking in quantity, he is making up in quality. Although the ’09 class is only at seven commitments so far, five of them are four-star players, including Marlon Pollard, the No. 8 cornerback in the nation, and Todd Golper, the No. 11 inside linebacker in the nation.
