Diablo Valley Community College (Pleasant Hill, Calif.) offensive tackle Donovan Edwards committed to UCLA on Monday for the ’09 class. Rivals lists Edwards’ vitals as 6-foot-5, 285 pounds, a 4.9-second 40 and a 3.5 GPA.

Edwards chose Westwood, Calif., over San Diego State. Bob Palcic is credited as the primary.

COMMENTARY: Not a bad class so far for new coach Rick Neuheisel, who now has eight total commitments, including five four-star athletes and two three-star players. Edwards so far is the only lineman in the class.
