Palo Verde High (Las Vegas, Nev.) cornerback Torin Harris gave his solid verbal to USC on Friday for the ’09 class.

The 5-foot-11, 175-pounder garnered 35 tackles and 13 pass breakups last season. Harris also has a flair for the offensive side of the ball, as he racked up 232 rushing yards and three scores on 24 carries. The lock-down corner also ran a reported 4.37 seconds in the 40-yard dash.

Harris chose L.A. over several schools, including Arizona, Arizona State, Oregon State and Washington State. Nick Holt is credited as the primary.
