Minnesota pulled out its checkbook for a conference rival's top receiver Saturday. After four seasons with Chicago, Bernard Berrian will bear a Vikings uniform after signing a six-year contract, reports Fox Sports' Jay Glazer. The value of the contract has not been disclosed.

Berrian was the Bears' top receiver last season in terms of receptions (71), yards (951) and touchdowns (5). As feeble as the Bears passing game was, the Vikings were poorer still. He would have led the Vikings in all those categories as well.

Commentary: The speedy Berrian will be a nice counterpart to Adrian Peterson on play-action. The Vikings will rely on Tarvaris Jackson to deliver the ball, which may be suspect. Take solace, Vikings fans, in the fact that Rex Grossman and Brian Griese are not great quarterbacks. They were able to deliver the ball in Berrian's hands, and so, one hopes, will Jackson.

Fantasy Football Impact: Berrian will be limited by Jackson's effectiveness. He's an outside shot at a number two receiver on your roster, but he'll more likely be a nice plug-in on bye weeks.
