Vikings bring back Keith Newman

The Minnesota Vikings re-signed linebacker Keith Newman. The Vikings have tried to solidify the position during the offseason with the acquisitions of Napoleon Harris and Sam Cowart.

The 6'2", 248 lbs. Newman had 48 tackles, 3.5 sacks, and 3 pass breakups in 15 games during the 2004 season.

A product of the University of North Carolina, Newman has been in the NFL since 1999. He has played for the Buffalo Bills (1999-2002) and the Atlanta Falcons (2003) before joining the Vikings. In 6 years, he has recorded 270 tackles, 20 sacks, 16 pass deflections, 7 forced fumbles, and 2 fumble recoveries over 78 contests.
