Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Tice has been fined $100,000 by the NFL for scalping Super Bowl tickets earlier this year. Two Vikings assistant coaches were also fined $10,000 each for scalping their tickets. Running backs coach Dean Dalton, special teams coach Rusty Tillman, and Tice were informed of their fines via letters sent by NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue.

Tice has acknowledged that he resold some of his personal allotment of 12 Super Bowl tickets last season and had also resold his tickets when he was a Minnesota Vikings assistant coach. All NFL players and coaches are allotted up to two Super Bowl tickets at face value. However, they must sign a document saying they won't resell them at a profit.

Tice was not available for comment, but did release a statement through the Vikings. He basically apologized for using poor judgment and considers the matter closed. He is looking forward to game planning for the 2005 season.
