Deep Run High School (Glen Allen, Va.) defensive end and tight end Jake Snyder gave his oral commitment to Virginia on Tuesday, according to the Roanoke Times. He will join his brother, Matt, a walk-on wideout for the team last season.

"I grew up loving Virginia football," the 6-foot-4, 245-pounder said, "but I tried not to think about having a favorite. I wanted to give every school an honest look."

As a defensive end, Snyder logged in 58 tackles, eight sacks and four picks last season. As a tight end, he caught 14 passes for 260 yards and five scores.

Projected as a defensive end, the Cavaliers’ 11th commitment chose Virginia over Ohio State, Penn State and Virginia Tech. Mike Groh is credited as the primary.

COMMENTARY: Virginia continues to rack up numerous commitments in short order; Snyder is the Cavs’ fourth commitment since May 24.
