The University of Washington revoked the scholarships of junior running back J.R. Hasty and senior cornerback Jordan Murchison, according to a team spokesman; neither will play for the Huskies again.

"It's pretty frustrating coming in thinking you are the top guy and they take it from you," Hasty said. "That hurts real bad. And from my own state [school], that kills me."

Hasty, who battled an ankle injury during last season’s fall drills, never made his mark at Washington after a great high school career. Murchison endured assault charges and was arrested on a charge of domestic violence before last season, subsequently serving a five-game suspension.

Coach Ty Willingham will reportedly give no comment on the releases.

COMMENTARY: Not a good sign anytime you have to release players, but it appears Murchison’s was warranted.
