Auburn Tigers
The Auburn Tigers -- usually a team that gains the majority of its verbal commitments later in the year -- are setting a blistering pace much earlier this season, having already secured 17 student-athletes for the 2009 class. Auburn needs defense. Stop talking a good football team and start developing a national championship.
Happy they started early and have 17 verbal confirmations .. Let's stop talking and lets start developing.

Last time I checked, development of a good football team was the only means to a national championship. Did you even read this guys entire article? Development is exactly what Rousseau is talking about in reference to TT going out and getting so many early commitments. Just where have you been dude, since TT took over at Auburn? Auburn have always been deep on defense, and TT as a defensive mind has always made the D his number one priority since arriving at Auburn. How do you think we became one of the top scoring defenses in the country?
I can remember a comment my Dad made several years ago at a non-conference game in the beginning of the fourth quarter when at that point we had buried the opposition and TT brought in the third string defense to finish the game. He turned to me and said, "I know this sounds crazy but that third string D is in many ways better than the first string". The star of that third string D at the time was freshman Quentin Groves. Need I say more. I wouldn't worry too much about the defense. As far as that national championship goes...I have a feeling it's closer than you think.
