| Spawn After the Vanderbilt game you may recall that coachTuberville would not allow him (Franklin) to speak to the media. He instead wanted him to concentrate on coaching. On Tuesday or Wednesday following the Vanderbilt gang he was very animated on the practice field. This is when a physical altercation took place between himself and a lineman after he absolutely dog cussed Cody Burns. Hugh Nall got involved and coach Franklin told HIM to shut the F%$# -up. I have been told that you can see an abrasion on coach Franklin's head in the video where he is taking his books out to his car. Everyone has bad mouth coach Tuberville and called him two -faced because he supported coach Franklin one day and fired him the next. It was after this unexcusable altercation between coaches and players that he came to this decision. It's important to remember that coaches are teachers and athletes are students. Would it be proper for a professor to get into the face of a student and curse him? I know coaches are given some latitude out there on the practice field but what coach Franklin did was extremely unprofessional and I assure you coachTuberville had the full support and backing of the university administration before he fired him. | ||

| This writer is just slinging an unfounded opinion which happens to be wrong. You know what they say about opinions. I won't write it here, just think about it. Tuberville has never been envious of Meyer at Florida, because he has never lost to him. Tuberville saw the need for change because Borges' offense was one of the worst in scoring in the NCAA! He hired Franklin because he thought it would improve Auburn's scoring capabilities and recruiting better skill positions would become easier. Think about it: if you were a premier QB or WR, would you want to play at a school that runs the ball 75%-85% of the time? Balance is was Tuberville was trying to get to, but Franklin's offense was a mistake. It's a mistake that could end up costing him his own job. Some aspects of the spread formation can work at Auburn, while some may not. The offense needs to get away from the one diminsional aspect that has plagued the team for years. I don't agree with Tuberville all the time, and think this hire was a mistake, but none the less, envy had nothing to do with this hire. So, original writer of the article, get your facts seperate from your fantasy land. | ||
