Chicago signed its second-round pick, RB Matt Forte, to a four-year deal, the team announced Wednesday. Financial terms were not disclosed. Forte is being looked at as the Bears' potential Week 1 starter in wake of the release of Cedric Benson earlier this offseason. I don't know if he will be the starter just because of Adrian Peterson, who came in last year and had decent numbers, but he will definitley be there number two and probably split time with Peterson.

Yeah if the Bears don't sign anyone else before the season starts look for Forte to split the carries with Peterson right out the gate. Unless theres a back out there in FA that could be a better fit.

Davneport from the steelers might be someone to come in and take the bulk of the carries, or even Shaun Alexander. He doesn't have a team yet and could probably do something there, at least be a veteran presence.
