In light of Saturday's automatically history-making game, I took a holiday away from the holiday to reminiscence with my friend Steve about that game in 1985. Uh, wait just a second here. Da Bares did NOT have the greatest season in the 80's. They got blown out by Miami, and would have again if Miami had gotten to the Bowl. The (begrudgingly admitted) 49'ers of 83-84 lost at home, to Pittsburgh in about week 7 or 8 I think, by a total of 3 points. They went on to basically crush (still hurts) Miami in the Super Bowl. That was basically the same team that whupped up on Da Bares in the next season. The 49ers-Dolphins game was the winningest duo ever in the Super Bowl. 18-1-0 SF 16-3-0 MIAMI. THAT was the greatest season ever, so far!
