Bills can forget about Lindell until they need him

Buffalo Bills
Kickers are as disposable as coffee filters in the NFL, as a bad reputation can sabotage a career even faster than a bad performance. Take Mike Vanderjagt: The most consistent field goal man in league history (86.4 percent success mark) had a perfect season in 2003, yet is viewed as such an unstable commodity that he’s sunk to competing in the...

Lindell has come along nicely, and he will most likely be called upon to win some important games for the Bills this year. I hope he is up for the challenge. I am one of those people who wonder if he is a clutch kicker. Lindell has yet to prove to me he is Adam Vinitari. Granted not many kickers are, and the Bills have not given him the opportunity to win very many big games for them. Thus the question remains, does Lindell have enough ice in his veins to make that 47 yd kick to win the SB?

Lindell missed a FG against the Steeler backups that might have helped the Bills to have at least one playoff appearance in this decade.

Training camp will be here soon and before you know it - some exhibition games to watch. Does anyone know if the Bills are planning a scrimmage with the Browns or someone?

Maybe they can scrimmage the Argonauts? Didn't know this, but the Toronto Argonauts are the oldest professional football team in North America (founded in 1873).

Hey Joe P. even Veniteri misses them. He's been fortunate enough to have gotten the opportunity to redeem himself with game winning kicks when his earlier attempts went off target in big games. Vanderjagt choked missing the biggest kick of h is life for the Colts and was never the same. I agree with you that until the Bills start asking Lindell to make more game winning kicks and he comes through I'm not ready to put him up there with Steve Christi or Scott Norwood. I'd love to see the Bills someday find a kicker who can consistently put the ball in the endzone for touchbacks.

Interestingly the kid that kicked for the Bills before Lindell whom Donahoe signed as a street free agent (can't remember his name Sean Something I think) is doing pretty well. I remember seeing him kicking during the playoffs last season. Kickers can be sort of like pro golfers. They can go along extremely well for a time hitting everything and then suddenly lose their stroke and you never hear about them again.
Limp Bizkit, Nigella Lawson?? Who??
