Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo Bills can use Marshawn Lynch’s collision with Trent Edwards as an excuse: He should take off Sunday night’s game against Indianapolis under the guise of a sore knee. He has already gotten the right amount of work this preseason, which is to say not much at all. Lynch's five carries against Pittsburgh last week more than doubled...

The Bills have been busy installing a new offense Anthony, which Lynch is a big part of. The more the team can practice the better. Most practice sessions have been without pads with players just getting to know the new scheme.

Lynch's role has changed. He will be used more as a receiver this year and there are many new plays installed in order to exploit his skills.

As far as Lynch's bump with Trent Edwards on Tuesday night, it was not much of a collision. I was there and Lynch sat out one play and was back at full speed, but it is something that the Bills would like to avoid in the future. It seems one way to do that is to get the new plays practiced so that everything becomes second nature.

Lynch allbeit a great RB for his second year is no veteran He needs to be in there with everyone else. 8-10 touches at least this is not just about learning his posistion but about getting in shape and being able to produce in a 60 min game. He along with every other starter on this team needs to go out there and work. This is the reason we pay them all this money so they can play I want to see what we are paying these guys for how good can they be!

Football is a contact sport. As the collision between Lynch and Edwards showed some injury is an unavoidable part of the game. It also demonstrated the need for more practice work as your starting runningback shouldn't be running into your starting quarterback during a hand-off in a regular season game. I've never known anyone who improved at anything without practice. Last year there were running plays where Marshawn was running into the backs of his own blockers. He can use the work. With a new offense being installed that will require more from the runningbacks in the passing game I think you have to have Marshawn out there with the rest of the first string during the exhibition season. There's a risk of injury but its a risk that must be taken.
