Buffalo Bills
There’s not too much that should be read into a stellar performance against a third-string quarterback who could also function as a second-string nose tackle, but the fact is that the Buffalo Bills' defense continues to look as it should. Battling Jared Lorenzen in the preseason isn’t the absolute best way to prepare for real games, but the...

You can only play against whomever is on the field and in that regard, I agree, the Bills defense did quite well Saturday night. But the truth is that the Colts offense is built around the unique skills of its future Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning. Unlike the type of non quarterback dependent offense where you can plug in and play any reasonable facimile of an NFL quarterback the Bills are trying to develop, the Colts offense relies heavily on Mannings skills to quickly read defenses and deliver the ball to open receivers to make everything else click. So facing Lorenzen recently released from the Giants roster rather than Manning will certainly give you a false positive reading on how good the Bills defense is. We'll learn absoutley nothing this week as the game against the Lions is devoted to determing who gets the final few roster spots and keeping the starters healthy. So we'll have to wait until September 7th when the Bills defenders line up against a real NFL offense armed with a real game plan before we know how good this years version of the Bills defense might be.

so what youre saying is that whomever beat the bills last season did so against second stringers, and should feel ok about themselves?

do you think peyton manning, a qb who loves practicing, will come back from missing training camp and be his old self?

do you think the bills have any respect for tom brady? even with kawika mitchell telling them locker room stories about how nice it is to beat his smiling ass? yes i mean ass.

all the experts (except carucci (2)) think the bills will win one more contest than last years jv club....as long as george wilson stays off the turf they have a chance to win em all.

if the bills do not go 10-6, then jauron is a failure...enough with the pussyfoot coach who turns pastey white when times get tough (shanahans opposite)

Dear ALL.....

"the only shock is that Corner is higher on the list than anyone could have anticipated in April"

NOT ANYONE.

I'll say it again. By this time next year...he will be a fan favorite.
Now ask me why...Why is because Reggie Corner says the things only special athletes say. They don't say the same things that non-special athletes say. You have to listen closely to the words....they will be hidden...an average fan will miss them amid the cockiness...When a special athlete is serious...you have to recognize it. These guys get so bombarded with Media...that they play the talk game..but every once in a while..they let you know the truth...and the truth is that they ARE better. Chad Johnson...it get's lost in his cockiness..T.O, Randy Moss, it get's lost...but they will never be caged.... You have to see it...it's what they let slip...

Reggie Corner. Said it in April. Is he those dudes...not yet. It's different than the JP Losman talk. Another guy who's got the talk is Trent. He's got the talk of someone who gets it done. Not Kelly. But someone who just gets it done. He'll never be pro-bowl...but he just may win a SuperBowl.

Yeah..I called Reggie Corner. A long ass time ago.
