Few steals, few sacks, fewer wins for Bills

Buffalo Bills
Life is already rough for the Buffalo Bills’ defenders: They were without the services of Aaron Schobel and Ashton Youboty at the beginning of the game against the Cleveland Browns on Monday and without Donte Whitner and Jabari Greer by the end, all while having to attempt to overcome quarterback Trent Edwards’ continued slide toward oblivion.

Injuries are a big deal in this regard.. boty, schob, whitner and greer are arguably the only turnover ballhawk kind of guys we have on defense... I was impressed that Fewell kept bringing the pressure with whatever guys he had... very impressed. we may have turned the corner here in terms of trusting the run game and going after the QB whatever the consequences.. you can bet we will see more of it against KCs tyler pigpen and whoever they put out there for SF...

The Defense kept us in the Cleveland game; putting our D against a competent offense after turning the ball over 3 times, the Bills would have been blown out. Still, few sacks and takeaways is hurting them big time. The Bills D is too small, too banged up to be a consistent force, so they bend and bend and then break. Whatever folks want to call this defense (the Tampon 2 is brilliant), it is built on small, fast players and soft coverage - and they will generally lose to big fast players. And the idiotic play-calling at the most crucial times...This team is a mess...Maybe this isn't the answer, but I wish the Bills would bring in a proven winner/player to run this team - somebody with passion, and a degree from the Ivy League is not required. This team needs a new face. I know I'm not the only fan tired of the stoic, understated, flat affect that is helping to flat-line this franchise into eternal mediocrity. The Bills need some fire. And some more talent...

8and8, seeing the Bills use Mitchell to rush the QB was great. It worked and blitz packages should be used more.

Kegman, I agree. Our defense kept us in the game. I'll also add our special teams did too. If not for the good field position and TD by McKelvin the score would have been alot worse.

Where do we go from here? The Jets have passed us and so have the Dolphins. Face it, we the worst team in the AFC East. We need a center, WR, TE, OLB and pass rusher before this team has any chance at a division title. A coach with a pulse and some stones would help the cause too.
