Buffalo Bills
Well, if you have to pretty much run the table through December to have any hope of playing in January, facing the Kansas City Chiefs is a decent way to start. Coach Herman Edwards’ team has played to win the game once so far this year, and this is the best matchup the Buffalo Bills could hope for after putting themselves in a delicate position. ...

On paper the Bills should win this game. But does anyone feel confident that they will? They're playing on a short week on the road, when Trent Edwards needs all the time he can get to put his 3 interception game against the Browns behind him and recompose himself and find some Kellyesque swagger. Maybe getting right back up on the horse that threw you as quickly as possible is the solution? As much as I want to believe Trent will be a solid if not Pro Bowl NFL quarterback some day, I'm wondering how he'll pull himself out of this horrible tailspin he's been on for the last month which culminated with that horrific first quarter against the Browns? He sure doesn't seem to be getting much help from his coaches. Isn't it funny how so many of us appreciate Josh Reed now? Isn't he the same guy we had written off in May as less than average? The Bills running game needs to pick up where it left off against the Browns defense to pull the safeties out of the deep zone if Edwards is going to have any chance of going downfield. If they revert to the offense that couldn't run against 7 man fronts, the Bills have no chance of going deep. Speaking of getting well, is there a better get well prescription for rookie DT Glenn Dorsey than to face the Bill's dynamic duo of centers? Oh well it's already mid-January weather-like in Upstate so there's nothing much else to do on Sunday except turn on the game, open a beverage of choice and chow down a couple of dozen hot Buffalo wings with some bleu cheese, carrots and cellery.
Dear Football gods, please help Trent find his mojo and Marshawn and Fred some holes to run through. Amen.

The Bills seem to play down to the level of teams with worse records on game day, and don't play up to the level of better teams. That being said, I think this game is a tossup between two equally struggling teams, despite the different records. It will be interesting to see if the coaches will let TE air it out, or try and continue the success of the run game they experienced against the Browns. Most likely it will be conservative play calling, and soft cover D in the banged up secondary that will allow Thigpen to have a career day. Will the Bills play to keep it close then try and win in the 4th qtr, or go for the knockout early against a 1-9 team? Outside of Buffalo or KC, does anybody really care? Personally, I would like to see the Bills control the game with our rejuvinated running game, as I think TE's passing issues are far from resolved. Go Bills, do your best against a 1-9 team and don't gag again. Remember, turnovers can cost you the game quite easily.

I fully expect the Bills to rebound and win this game. I also expect Trent to have a good game. The only thing the win accomplishes however is a sense of satisfaction which I suppose we all need at this point. The Bills are not a playoff caliber team so the win really hurts us in that it affects our draft position. Anyhow, if the Bills lose this one the wheels will fall off and the season will freefall. We'll be calling for Jauron's head and JP Losman...a truly sad prospect. Bills 27-17
