Edwards’ third year starts now

Buffalo Bills
Buffalo Bills quarterback Trent Edwards doesn’t need to be able to run or even walk by next Sunday: if he can stand, he should be in the lineup. The franchise’s hopes for an ultimately successful 2008 may be crushed, but the current starter needs to play for 2009. He must quickly overcome his nagging groin, and not just in order to stop people ...

It's likely that the Bills finish by losing 9 of their last 10 games, which represents a colossal collapse. Every player, coordinator and coach is suspect. Marshawn Lynch may be an exception. The team reminds me of the nautical flag signal, Red over Red: The Captain Is Dead. Vessel not under command.

Do the 2008 Bills go down as one of the worse teams in the Bills dismal history, or can they salvage a shred of respect?

I doubt they can make a last stand. They seem totally washed up, but maybe desperation can goad them to playing decent ball.

In retrospect, those 4th quarter comebacks were the worst thing for us. They gave us hope, made us think Edwards was the man, gave Jauron a possible extension, and screwed us out of a top 5 draft pick. Could Colt McCoy be the Bills version of Matt Ryan? The Bills will never know.

I'm not ready to give up on Edwards. He needs another full season, plus better coaches on the team would help.

Ted Rogers (owner of the Blue Jays, Roger Centre) died at the age of 75. I don't know if this means that there's no possibility of the Bills moving to Toronto since Rogers died?

Good article from Ch.2's Ed Kilgore. He said he talked to a Bills insider and said Ralph was livid after the Browns game and was not available for comment after the 49ers game. With the players calling out the coaches and the fans rebelling against the team, you have to know there are going to be some major changes in the offseason. It's highly unlikely we'll finish out strong, so I hope Jauron gets canned.
