Other three-quarters of division make Bills look even worse

Buffalo Bills
The Miami Dolphins’ 2008 division title was as improbable as the Buffalo Bills’ miss was probable. Despite their subsequent first-round playoff trouncing at the hands of the Baltimore Ravens, the Dolphins still proved that there’s one consistent fact in the AFC East: It ends up as a maximum three-team race, as Buffalo has watched its three ...

There reason why the Bills have not made the playoffs in 9 years is because Ralph Wilson Sucks!!! He goes the cheap rout with GM's & head coaches, because he's gotten burned by some of his previous coaches & GM's (Donahoe, Saban). Last year, Arthur Blank got burned by Mike "Pitbull" Vick & his idiot HC who told him he was staying, then 1 day later quits and takes a coaching job in college. Even though Blank got burned, he still went out and got a good GM to turn this team around in 1 year. The Bills will not be a Superbowl contender and mostly likely not make the playoffs as long as Ralph is still the owner.

I'm as critical as anyone of the Bills but I think Russ Brandon did a good job his first year:

Our run defense was terrible last year so he traded a 3rd and 5th rounder for Stroud who has clearly upgraded our defense. This was a fair trade.

He waited to the second round to draft a WR as clearly no WR was worthy of our first round pick. Hardy was a bust but he was rated amongst the best in a weak class. The Bills were desperate for a WR at that point (and still are by the way).

He drafted the best available CB which looks good especially since there is no way the Bills pay huge bucks to keep Greer.

He almost dumped Levy's blunder John McCargo to Indy for a 4th round pick only to be nixed by bulging discs in his back. Nice try!

Lastly he signed Lee Evans before the season ended. I sense Evans would have wanted out if he knew the season would end so badly but he's locked up.

I expect the Bills to bring in 1-2 top tier freee agents this year.

Let's see what Brandon does this offseason because I like his moves so far.

3d--as much as I would like a Pioli or a AJ Smith style GM running the team, Brandon did a good job for his 1st year. The Stroud trade was a good one even though it had to made because of the past mistakes of letting Pat Williams go then trading up to draft the latest bust McCargo.

Russ will have his hands full this year trying to market the team and how much help is the draft actually going to yield. They may draft good players but they are still rookies who have to lean to play at the NFL level. Who knows how active the Bills will be in free agency. They should be able to pick up a LB (starter), DB (Greer, Yobutt & Ko are ? marks) and an offensive lineman (depth).

This has to be a pivital year for Modrak and his drafting skills---if he doesn't hit on a couple of blue chipper his days should be numbered!!!!!!
